Quilt Along With June - Block 12

Fabrics

(2) 7 ¼” squares of background colour

(4) 4" squares of print. These can be one colour or various colours.

Centre Unit

(4)  2” x 3 ½” rectangles printed fabric

(4) 2” squares of background

(1) 3 ½” square of print for the centre

Corner Units

16” x 2” strip of background

16” x 2” strip of print

Flying Geese
With the 7 ¼” square of background and (4) 4” print fabric, make 4 flying geese using the 4 at once method. There are pictures following to remind you how to do it.
 
Square Flying geese to 6 ½” x 3 ½”. the easiest way to square up flying geese is to use the Deb Tucker Wing Clipper. It is awesome for this.
Centre Unit
Sew 3 ½” x 2” print rectangle to the centre 3 ½” square
Sew a 2” background square to each end of the remaining 3 ½” x 2” rectangle. Press to the rectangle. Sew the units together as shown in the picture.
Corner Stone Unit
Sew the two 16” x 2” strips together. Press
Cut into 2 “segments.
Sew the units together in pairs using opposing colours. You will end up with 4 corner stone units.
Block Assembly
Lay the block sections out as in the following picture. Sew together and press seams open.
