Introduction to The Wedge Star Tool and Sew Along

Beginning February 9th, 2021

The Wedge Star Tool by Studio 180 is designed to make a variety of blocks based on 45 degree sub-units.

The tool allows you to make the various blocks in 22 different sizes. I have chosen to make the blocks I am demonstrating 14” finished (14 ½" including seam allowances) but you can choose whatever size you wish from tiny little 3” blocks all the way up to 24” finished size.

There are 3 basic blocks that we will explore over the first three sessions and from there we will look at a variety of options to create more complex designs, each week, until we have created 10 beautiful blocks.

The instructions that came with the tool gives you all the information necessary to make the blocks but as with most instructions, oftentimes it becomes clearer with visual clues as well as hands on learning. I am hoping you will follow along with the pictorials and additional instruction I am providing and that together we can learn  something new.

I have included some videos, I have created, as well as providing some links to Deb Tucker's videos (I have had the pleasure of taking a couple of classes with Deb Tucker of Studio 180 who created these tools and she is smart and  awesome!).

I do hope this ‘sew along’  will provide you with the confidence to tackle all the blocks demonstrated and add some useful new abilities to your quilting journey!!

 Let's get started!!
